widely creative . week 20

sketching at Kirstenbosch Gardens

I can't believe we've creatively lived 20 weeks of 2018. Seriously, where does time go? The first few weeks of this #365daysofcreativity challenge were intentional and a bit forced. I was in the studio, trying to crank out artwork and sketches because I wasn't in the habit of touching art tools on a weekly basis. I recently asked myself, "are you being as intentional as you were when you began?" "are you really putting the effort into your goal?" And the answer that I came up with surprised me. Even though I'm not behind a paintbrush everyday (like I was in week 1, 2, 3, 4), I'm actually more intentional about making sure my whole LIFE is creative. It's not just about paper and paint. It's about carrying my sketchbook and a pencil with me everywhere I go. It's about documenting my creative eye. It's making an effort to ask myself, "what sort of creativity will bring life to me today?" And every day is different.

This has been one crazy-creative week. Here are all the things:

NATIONAL MUSEUM DAY
We live in a design-capital city. Downtown Cape Town is full of artsy places and things. Just a short drive and we're there. However, it's rare we get out of our world on the Muizenberg coast (away from church, meetings, mentoring) and go enjoy our city. But we're trying to be more intentional about it and love how our city can inspire us.
After MONTHS of Cape Town's launch of the Zeitz MOCAA museum (https://zeitzmocaa.museum/), we finally went! Entry was free on National Museum Day (18 May), so we capitalized on the offer! Here are a few shots of our beautiful experience.
