shortbread . week 23 (edible creativity)



New recipe this week. Getting creative in the kitchen.
I had some people coming over for a ministry planning meeting and I needed a quick bake. I'd heard how easy shortbread biscuits were, so I googled a recipe quickly. Because these are classically British, all the measurements were in weighs (oz or g) so I converted them and did a little math to get my working-recipe. 

Quick & Easy Shortbread Biscuits
1/2 cup chilled butter (the real stuff, don't you dare think of that plastic-based marg)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1/2 tsp vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar, add vanilla.
Add flour. After mixing a min, use hands to squeeze the crumbs together.
Pour on floured surface.
Roll 1/2 inch thick.
Cut into bitesized squares (or rectangles).
Chill for 20 min.
Bake 15 min on 350'F or 180'C
